A long-awaited act of justice
Philippe Duhamel
Canada's decision to fully adopt, without qualification, the UN Declaration on the rights of indigenous peoples is an act of justice, long-awaited before history. I applaud the decision.
The Canadian Minister of Indigenous and Northern Affairs, the Honourable Carolyn Bennett, announced the decision at the United Nations in New York, on May 10, 2016:
"We are now a full supporter of the Declaration, without qualification."
